¿Cómo y cuándo decidiste crear Amora?
Todo empezó hace ya casi dos años, cuando decidí emprender un proyecto personal completamente nuevo y diferente a lo que venía haciendo (soy ingeniera industrial) con una gran carga personal y creativa. Así nació amora y en pocas palabras lo resumo como la “búsqueda, captura e intervención de objetos”.
¿En qué te inspiras/basas a la hora de crear tus complementos?
Por un lado me nutro de elementos antiguos encontrados en los mercadillos de antigüedades para fabricar los colgantes, broches, pulseras, gemelos ó pins de amora, pero lo que hace a amora aún más especial y diferente es el tipo de complementos que fabrico entre los cuales hay cubrebotones, peinetas, clip para pañuelos… todos ellos elementos ya en desuso en la moda actual y que yo propongo que vuelvan a utilizarse, que vuelvan a cobrar vida. De alguna manera es como un ciclo que se cierra… es mi manera de devolverle al pasado toda la inspiración que me provee.
¿Qué diferencia a amora del resto?
Soy de la idea de que todo está inventado ya, es cuestión de combinarlo de una manera lúdica, dándole una vuelta interesante. Por eso mi trabajo comienza recorriendo mercadillos de antigüedades de todas las ciudades que visito y adquiriendo todos aquellos objetos que por su estética me llaman la atención: medallas, sellos postales, maquinas de escribir, relojes, monedas…Luego el desafío comienza en mi taller cuando intervengo los objetos para convertirlos en complementos, en su mayoría únicos. La intervención de estos objetos resulta interesantísima a la par que complicada pues es difícil prever como se comportarán determinados materiales ante las soldaduras, pulidos, etc ya que son materiales de los cuales no conozco su composición exacta. Mi formación como Ingeniera Industrial me permite conocer más sobre el alcance y las posibilidades de los diferentes materiales que utilizo, entre ellos maderas, metales, fotografías antiguas…
¿Qué haces cuando no estás "trabajando" en amora?
Otra de mis “intervenciones” consiste en captar imágenes atractivas, ya sea en libros antiguos, revistas, Internet o, incluso, fotografías de mis familiares y convertirlas en grabados en madera, recortadas en metal u otros materiales coherentes que resalten sus detalles.
Tu pieza favorita de amora.
Me resulta dificil elegir una pieza favorita, ya que con cada una tengo algo especial, pero creo que entre mis favoritas se encuentran las que he elaborado con fotografías antiguas. Principalmente porque en esas fotografías están mis padres de pequeños en los años ’30 y ’40 y ellos no llegaron a conocer mi lado creativo, ni tampoco a amora omo firma de complementos.
