Las Stan Smith nacieron en 1971 para convertirse en una de las zapatillas más famosas de todos los tiempos. Pero la historia de este calzado (uno de los más icónicos de Adidas) surge unos años antes, precisamente en 1965, cuando la marca alemana diseña un par de zapatillas para el tenista Robert Haillet con tan mala (o buena) suerte de que el deportista comienza a empeorar en la pista y se decide rediseñar el modelo y bautizarlo con el nombre de uno de los tenistas más top de aquel momento: Stan Smith. Sobra decir que el lanzamiento fue todo un éxito pues a día de hoy Adidas puede presumir de haber vendido más de 30 millones de pares.
